Abstract

The review sections of both Diario de poesía and Hablar de poesía offer clues as to the different ways in which the literary newness enters the literary system. The 1990s poets books will be approached, in the first case, from their uniqueness; in the second case, from their strong inscription within the poetic traditions that predominated in Argentina in the 1960s. In this sense, the idea of novelty generates a mirror-like movement. Whereas Hablar de poesía tends to review books from a poetic ideology that could be defined in terms of "classical lyric poetry," it is the modern and contemporary poetry concept which is at stake in Diario de poesía. Consequently, the interpretation of newness presupposes, in both cases, a dialogue with the poetics developed by these publications' editors, which result in the concept of a "young paternity" (Diario de poesía) and in the need to select and take away from a previously established poetics (Hablar de poesía).
