Abstract
This article revises the relationship between canon and market as from two experiences carried out by Eudeba and Centro Editor de América Latina of two collections addressed to mass readership and new sales ways between the sixties and the eighties in Argentina. These moments are very different because of the aesthetic, cultural and political contexts attached to conceptions about the function of books, national literature and the roles of the intellectual.
