Main Article Content
Abstract
Since the beginning of the 20th century the interest of the mass audience for artistic culture has become clear, which leads to aspirations contrasting the shortage of symbolic capital they had. Buenos Aires magazine Caras y Caretas fed that interest, putting into circulation a vast amount of texts and images and giving birth to an imaginary based on exposure where it was possible to go from consumption to cultural production. This article analyzes that phenomenon from the texts and drawings of amateur collaborators.
