Abstract

The object of this paper is one of Juan José Saer's most widely read novels, La pesquisa [1994]. Taking as a starting point several of the most relevant critical approaches to it, we intend to provide a different reading of the same issues criticism has been concerned with, highlighting some features in the novel which have seemingly gone unnoticed. Therefore, we shall deal, once more, with the much debated problem of the relationship between the novel and crime literature in order to venture new hypotheses from new elements
