Libros en movimiento: Ediciones, traducciones y colecciones de viajeros a la Argentina
Main Article Content
Abstract
The history of the translation of texts written by foreign travelers to Argentina in the nineteenth century is yet to be done. In this paper, we shall explore the possibilities of such a project through the analysis of the work of four translators -Carlos Aldao, Juan Heller, Carlos Muzzio Saénz Peña and José Luis Busaniche- in the first half of the twentieth century. Besides, we shall relate their work to the book collections which incorporated their translations into their catalogues. Finally, we shall evaluate the fate of these translations in two more recent book collections: one published in the 1980s, and a contemporary one whose issues began to appear in the late nineties
