Imprensa de opinião ou de informação no Uruguai e no Chile: Um falso dilema?
Main Article Content
Abstract
This article aims at reflecting briefly on the debates between opinion and information as posited in the weeklies Acción, Marcha and Ercilla during the 1930s and 1940s. Within a clearly political dimension, the three weeklies promoted significant intellectual, political and cultural discussion among authors who defended the inclusion of different interpretations, but disagreed on how the news or texts should be presented to readers. Information or commentary: how to establish a dialogue with the public? To lead opinion or to appear as neutral in the public life debate?
