Abstract
The present paper deals with the journalistic works of Tomás Eloy Martínez published in his latest anthologies. The analysis prioritizes the ways in which his writing frequents hybrid genres, the construction of the writer image emerging in these texts, and the place that he seeks to occupy in the Argentine literary and intellectual field (Bourdieu, 2003). Finally, it explores the concept of culture from which Tomás Eloy Martínez interprets reality, and the national representations or images that he helps to construct during the nineties and after the 2001 crisis
